Dr. Pepper Cherry Marshmallow Cake


2 cans dark sweet cherries pitted, drained reserving syrup
===jello mixture===
3/4 cup reserved cherry syrup
1 package cherry jell-o (3oz.
Size)
1/4 cup dr.
Pepper
1/8 teaspoon almond extract
===batter mixture===
1 package yellow cake mix
3/4 cup dr.
Pepper
1 package cherry jell-o (3 ounce size)
4 eggs
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 cups miniature marshmallows

Arrange cherries evenly on bottom of a greased 9 x 13 pan. Preheat oven to 350 degrees f. In a small saucepan, combine the cherry syrup, 1 package of cherry jell-o and 1/4 cup dr. Pepper; gently heat until jell-o is dissolved. Add almond extract and cool slightly. In a large mixing bowl, combine yellow cake mix, 1 package cherry jell-o, oil, eggs and 3/4 cup dr. Pepper. Beat on high for 3-4 minutes. Pour cooled jell-o mixture over cherries in pan. Sprinkle evenly with the miniature marshmallows and then carefully and evenly spoon the batter mix over the marshmallows. Bake for 40-45 minutes. Cool on rack for 45 minutes. Chill 3-4 hours. This is a self-icing cake.

Dr Pepper Meatballs


* 1 1/2 pounds lean ground turkey
* 1 egg
* 1 1/4 cups dry bread crumbs
* 1 (1 ounce) package ranch dressing mix
* 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
* 1 onion, minced
* 1 green bell pepper, minced
*
* 1 (12 fl oz) can Dr. PepperĀ®
* 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
* 1 cup ketchup
* 1 cup diced tomatoes in juice
* 1 teaspoon salt
* 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
* 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1. Preheat an oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
2. Place the turkey, egg, bread crumbs, ranch dressing mix, and 1 tablespoon of the Worcestershire sauce into a mixing bowl along with 3 tablespoons of the minced onion, and 3 tablespoons of the minced bell pepper. Set the remaining onion and bell pepper aside. Form the turkey mixture into 2 inch meatballs, and place into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
3. Bake uncovered in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. While the meatballs are baking, stir the remaining onion and bell pepper in a bowl along with the Dr. PepperĀ®, 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, diced tomatoes, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Once the meatballs have cooked for 15 minutes, remove them from the oven and pour the sauce overtop. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and return to the oven.
4. Bake for 30 minutes, then remove the foil and continue baking 15 minutes more. Remove from the oven and allow to stand 15 minutes before serving.

Dr Pepper Cake


Dr Pepper is my all-time favorite soft drink, so why not combine my love for this soda along with my love for sweet things?!?!

* 2 cups all-purpose flour
* 2 cups white sugar
* 1 cup Dr. Pepper soft drink
* 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
* 2 eggs
* 1 teaspoon baking soda
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
* 1 cup butter
* 1/2 cup buttermilk
* 1 1/2 cups miniature marshmallows
* 6 tablespoons butter
* 1 cup packed brown sugar
* 2/3 cup peanut butter
* 1/4 cup milk
* 2/3 cup chopped, unsalted dry-roasted peanuts

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease one 9×13 inch cake pan.
2. Mix together the flour and the white sugar.
3. In a saucepan combine the Dr. Pepper, cocoa, and 1 cup of the butter or margarine, bring to a boil. Pour melted butter mixture over the flour and mix well. Stir in the beaten eggs, baking soda, vanilla, buttermilk and miniature marshmallows and mix well. Pour batter into the prepared pan.
4. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 30 to 35 minutes. Remove from oven and spread peanut butter topping over warm cake. Place frosted cake under broiler, about 4 inches from the heat source. Broil for just a few seconds, or until topping starts to bubble. Do not scorch. Let cake cool at least 30 minutes before serving.
5. To Make Peanut Butter Topping: Cream together the remaining 6 tablespoons butter, the brown sugar, and the peanut butter. Add the milk and stir well. Mix in the nuts. Spread topping over still warm cake.
